Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Products are unique multi-purpose absorbents. These high quality products deliver 50% more absorbency per pound than regular clay products. The super absorbency of DE creates a premium quality cat litter and excellent additive to other products. Diatomite is a 100% natural earthen product produced by the Moltan Company. Over 200 million years ago, countless trillions of one-celled plants called diatoms existed in the oceans.
They constructed tiny shells about themselves out of silica they extracted from the waters. When the diatom died, its microscopic shell was deposited on the floor of those ancient seas. Through the centuries, these shells eventually collected into deposits, sometimes thousands of feet thick. When the waters receded, the deposits were eventually covered and the shells fossilized and compressed into a soft chalk-like rock called diatomite, also known as Diatomaceous Earth (DE).
Natural Zeolite Products - Modernite and clinoptilolite are 100% natural Zeolites produced by the Moltan Company. Zeolites are natural volcanic minerals with a number unique characteristics. Zeolites were formed when volcanic ash was deposited in ancient alkaline lakes. The interaction of volcanic ash with the salts in the lake water altered the ash into various zeolite materials.
Zeolites have a crystalline "honeycomb" like structure and have the unique ability to change ions. One gram of zeolite provides up to several hundred square meters of surface area for chemical reactions to take place. This characteristics of zeolite gives great absorbing power.
Calcined Montmorillonite Clay Cat Litter - Is highly absorbent and nonflammable. It absorbs liquids, including most oils, water, mixtures of soluble oils and water, grease, gas, acids, inks and paints. Montmorillonite naturally cleans up spills and reduces hazards.
Calcined Montmorillonite Clay is often referred to as Fuller's Earth, or natural bleaching clay. When used as a filter, any natural or treated clay effectively removes color and clarifies various mineral and organic oils. Mineralogically, Fuller's Earth is predominantly smectite. The importance of Fuller's Earth to industry is its bleaching properties. Deposits of Fuller's Earth are mined by the Moltan Company in Western Tennessee.
